Joel Smith, the founder of Grampy Productions., is a multi-talented, multi-instrumental musician, music director, producer, composer, teacher, husband, father, recording artist and is world renowned.

The soulful, funky, smooth, yet humble Joel Smith is known for playing any and all types of music and has been in the music industry for more than 30 years. Joel’s roots come from Gospel Music when he got his start with his uncles, Bishop Walter L. Hawkins and Edwin Hawkins, when he was just 13 years old. His first album he recorded on was, Grammy Winning, “Wonderful-Live” by Edwin Hawkins.

Joel has been blessed to expand his musical talents into not only Gospel, but Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop, Pop, Fusion, Reggae, Latin and even a little Polka.

Joel’s gifts allow him to play many instruments, but he is best known for playing electric bass and drums and can play them equally well. He can also play acoustic and electric guitar, upright bass and percussion.
